Change Order of Animations for powerpoint 2013 Slides

You'll seldom find that your first assembly of animations for powerpoint Slides is the one you'll finally go with. You'll see that there needs to be an extra animation inserted between existing animations or that the presentation is more effective with a different assembly order. In general, these are easy fixes. If you want to reorient the order of a particular slide:

  1. Click on the object on your slide with the animation effects that you want to reorder.

  2. Go to the Animation tab, then click Animation Pane.

  3. In the Animation Pane, click and hold the animation effect you want to move, then drag it to the new position. Release your mouse button and the new position is saved.

Note that a thin red line appears as you move from position. Don't release the mouse button until you see that line in the new position you want the effect to have.

If you want to insert additional animations to an initial assembly, the easiest way to do that is first to add them to the existing sequence, then (as described above), move each additional animation to the desired position in the sequence.

  3. At the bottom of the Animation Pane click you'll see "Re-Order" and up and down arrows. Click on the up or down arrow until the animation effect is in the desired position.

  5. Finally, you can also use the same click, hold and drag procedure used in powerpoint 2014. Be careful, however, that the animation effect has fully reached the position you want before you release your mouse.
